Electromembrane Modules of New Generation

The goal of the project is the innovation of current electrodialysis units, modules for electrodeionization and their partial components and furthermore the reduction of the production costs, improve performance in applications and securing of higher operation reliability. The project also includes the development of new electromembrane modules which work with more hydraulic circuits using bipolar membranes in combination with standard cation exchange and anion exchange membranes. Project responds to current market requirements and many processes and products are developed in direct relation to demand for concrete applications (e.g. more circuits ED with bipolar membranes). The part of the project is mathematical modelling in the field of fluid flow, electric charge and mass transfer and electromembrane modules.
